For someone who is always trying to create things “perfectly”, I’m glad you both gave me a new perspective of my journey being an house and lens is the only thing I need as a creator ❤️🔥🫶🏻
Thank you for this article. I've been actually trying to replace my terrible habit of doomscrolling with writing, which I loved to do as a teenager. Then life happened and I was always too busy to simply just sit down with my thoughts and write them dowb on a piece of paper. It's time to put all the distractions aside and set my mind free.
i’m so glad to hear this!!! you don’t need to do a complete 180, just start finding ways to engage with the world differently and the rest will follow :)
I'm gonna borrow that devotion over discipline mantra. It's so hard balancing wanting to be taken seriously and wanting to just express yourself creatively.
it has honestly been such a game-changer for me. i have adhd so it’s always been really difficult to be disciplined/follow through with my plans but this perspective has helped SO much
The house under construction is painfully accurate. Apparently the creative voice also has contractors who vanish for three weeks, but the place slowly becomes yours.
Devotion over discipline rescues creative practice from becoming a tiny corporate office in your head. The unfinished house metaphor is painfully accurate too. There is always one mysterious room collecting reference images.
The house under constant construction is painfully accurate. Apparently the creative voice also needs permits, scaffolding, and an alarming number of renovations.
Honestly such a joy doing this with you!!! ❤️
always 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I’m a simple woman. When Mapu says “subscribe to Erifili Gounari“, I subscribe to Erifili Gounari.

Beautiful read!
i’m so glad <3333 the house analogy has been with me for a long time and it has been so special to become the person i am today!
This was soooo good! I feel very encouraged and inspired as someone who has decided to start writing and putting my work out there.

Beautiful clarity . Building than finding ❤️
that’s right! i have a super super special essay coming up that’s exactly about this :))
This is a fine observation about pacing. A scene needs room to breathe, though it should not rent an apartment there.
indeed :)
The process will always look different for everyone but what will never change is the way as humans we need to be inspired in order to create. 🙏🏽✨
exactly!!!

The idea that creativity teaches us to trust uncertainty feels like the quiet center of this whole exchange.
